NABIIT grants announced

The strategic research council has released the list of funded projects for the August 2007 call (in danish):

Samlet budget: 9,2 mio. kr. Uddannelse af mindst 2 ph.d.ere.indgår i budgettet.

News story about Kirsten's winter trip to Zackenberg

Hillerøds local newspaper has a story on Kirsten's work at Zackenberg. The article is in danish, but the pictures are a pretty good illustration of the hard work that Kirsten had to do to drill the ice and place the test buoy.

IPY Article

On October 15th, Mana made the IPY frontpage with a story about our August trip to Zackenberg and the installation of the Capoh system.

Best Paper Award

Luc Bouganim, Bjorn Jonsson and Philippe Bonnet got the best paper award at the Conference on Innovative Data systems Research (CIDR2009) for their work on the performance characterization of flash devices.

PhD Position

PhD position available in the MANA project, at the fresh water biology lab of Københavns Universitet under the supervision of Kirsten Christoffersen. Deadline for applications is 18/02.

Marcus Chang defends PhD

Marcus Chang obtained his PhD title from U.Copenhagen based on the defense of his thesis "From Automatic to Adaptive Data Acquisition - Towards Scientific Sensornets".
